Delores Vigoda

Delores Vigoda, known to many as "Lory" and "Dee," passed away peacefully on March 15, 2023, in Sharon, Massachusetts, at the age of 93.

A longtime resident of Sharon, Delores is survived by her daughter, Valerie Vigoda, and her beloved granddaughter, Nina Vigoda. She was predeceased by her husband of nearly 50 years, David Vigoda; her siblings, Virginia "Jerry" Rojas, Wallace Stanley, Jayne Olender, and Ardis Stanley; and her niece, Sandee Peasley. She also leaves behind nieces Sue Keiswetter, Sherri Seib, James Olender, and Jaye Olender, as well as many grand and great-grand nieces and nephews.

Delores dedicated her life to helping others as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in her private Christian counseling practice. She was a compassionate listener and a source of wise counsel to many. A lifelong learner, she earned multiple degrees and was deeply committed to education. When not pursuing her own studies, she shared her knowledge as a nursing instructor at Northeastern University and Roxbury Community College.

Her faith was central to her life. An active member of the Greater Grace World Outreach Church-formerly known as The Bible Speaks-since the 1970s, she attended its annual global conference in Baltimore well into her 90s. Later in life, she devoted herself even more fully to spiritual writing, speaking, and counseling. Long before online newsletters existed, she shared her insights through extensive mailings.

Delores had an adventurous spirit and a warm sense of humor that endeared her to all who knew her. She made lifelong friends wherever she went. Her husband once said of her that he not only worshipped the ground she walked on-he worshipped the water she walked on.

She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
