My loving mother, mentor and friend. It has been 15 days since you went home and I miss you more than words can ever say. The quick calls when the boys do or say something funny that I know would make you laugh, the ear I could count on when having a bad day knowing you would say just the right things to make it better or the just checking in call to see how things are going, they meant the world to me. I mourn losing you mommy but I am so happy knowing you are with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Home with your mommy and daddy smiling down on us. I will forever carry you in my heart you special, special lady. I know you left here worrying about Dad but don't, we'll take care of him for you. Until we are together again, your loving son Bobby Jr.

Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies. Delsie was a blessing to our family members, her Church, and her community; she was a courageous God fearing and God loving woman who never let her sickness hinder her in helping others. She was the epitome of kindness and love and it was reflected in the way she treated hundreds of people she came in contact with. She nurtured many, doing what she could, when she could. She lived her faith and left a monument of virtue that time can never erase and can never be forgotten.

Our family chain has been broken, and nothing may seem the same, but as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.

I miss my cousin terribly, but it is a comfort knowing that she is now resting, she has been set free from all afflictions, is abiding with the Father, and I will see her again someday.

We have just returned from a 2 week trip and found Joanne's e-mail about your dear Mother. She was such a sweet person and there will never be anyone else like her. Having lost my own Mother (and Ron has lost his also) we know first hand how sad you are. There is nothing like a Mother! Our love and prayers are with you all. God bless you all and know that you are in our prayers. Holidays will be especially hard but God will bring you through each holiday. We love you all and miss you!

While I had the honor and the pleasure of meeting Mrs. Alford on several occasions, I can not say that I knew her well. I can say that my life is a better place for knowing Bobby, Vera and Denise. It has been said that you can see the true reflection of a person through their offspring. Clearly Mrs. Alford was a proud, strong, woman of grace and character. Our heartfelt condolences to all the Alford family.
