Delton Gulley Obituary
Delton Alphonso Gulley was born October 14, 1956 to Hersey Lee Gulley and Eddis Mae Gulley in Camden, Arkansas. At an early age Delton joined Bethel A.M.E. Church and then St. James A.M.E. Church. Later in life he joined Mt. Gillard Missionary Baptist Church where he remained a faithful member until his death. Delton also was a member of the Mt. Gillard Male Chorus.
Delton was a 1975 graduate of Camden High School Camden, AR. After high school Delton was employed with Performance Chevrolet, BEI and Lockheed Martin. After 23 years Delton retired from Proctor Funeral Home.
Delton had many names given to him by his friends and family. For example: Dellll-Tonnn, Baby Head, Del Boy, Heavy, Heavy D and Lil Big Bro. Delton loved his family with every ounce of his heart. He was a kind soul who never met a stranger. If he could, he would make you laugh and smile. Delton had a heart of gold, quick witted, jokester, giver and not a taker, loved good food and a coinsurer of music. Delton loved God with every fiber of his being, always reading his Bible to obtain knowledge and understanding of God’s Word in order to rightly divide it. He did all he could to share The Word of God with God’s people. He only wanted to see them saved. Remember Mt. Gillard church family he loved you immensely.
Delton departed this life at the blessed age of 64 on February 1, 2021 at his home in Camden, Arkansas. Delton is preceded in death by his father, Hersey Lee Gulley.
He leaves to cherish his memory the love of his life, his wife, the gleam in his eye Annette Flannigan Gulley; his mother, Eddis M. Gulley Johnson; brothers, Cleotis (Theresa) Gulley, Leotis (Julie) Gulley, Junius (Patricia) Gulley; sisters, Herdiscine (Ronald) Gossett and Sabrina Gulley; children, Angela Clary, Delton K. (Ciara) Gulley, Olympia Haygood, LeVonte (Nicole) Childs, Roderick Gulley; ten grandchildren; one great grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncle, cousins, friends, church family and best friend Marcus Thomas.
A graveside service will be 10:00AM Saturday, February 06, 2021 at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00PM to 8:00PM Friday at Proctor Funeral Home.

With great sympathy to the family. As I think of Delton my soul cries but I also smile and laugh out loud about some of the things he teased me about. He will be missed by so many as he had a personality that made you feel you were always a friend. Regardless of the last time and miles since I saw him, when we would run into each other I always felt happy to see him and left his presence with a smile. Rest in Peace Delton.

I met Delton when he was 14. He was the soft spoken one. He always had a smile and a funny story to tell. You had to watch out because he would pull a funny joke on you. He always was willing to help keep the kids. Cine would be in charge, but he would keep them entertained. Somehow, Quinn, my son would somehow out maneuver him and Cine, pull his diaper off and go outside in the driveway on Grindstead St and poop! Many a jokes he told on that. He always remembered who you were. I didn't get to see or spend time with him in later years or know his children, but many found memories. My condolences to his family.
