Delwyn Buford Chamblee

Graveside services for Delwyn Buford Chamblee, 47, of Huntington will be held Wednesday, January 18, 2006 at 2 p.m. in the Shofner Cemetery with Dr. Darryl Smith officiating. Mr. Chamblee was born May 16, 1958 in Lufkin, Texas, to Mildred Jane (Wilcox) and Buford Harris Chamblee, and died Sunday, January 15, 2006 at his residence. Mr. Chamblee was a lifelong resident of Huntington. He was a man of many inventions, among them the fuel system and wheel cover locks. He worked in Research and Development for Brown & Root, and also owned his own businesses, Shu Systems and Security Plus. He was also a pilot for the Magnet School in Houston. He loved to race cars, mainly Mustangs. Mr. Chamblee was a member of the First Baptist Church of Huntington. Survivors include his partner, Patricia Scott of Huntington; daughters, Jennifer Chamblee of Huntington and Ashley Chamblee of Katy; mother, Jane Naski of Jacksonville; sister, Darlene Miller of Jersey Village; brother, Dayton Hutson of Jacksonville; Godchildren, Crystal of Shreveport, Louisiana and Justin of Jersey Village; cousins, Wayne and Marlene Chamblee, Gary and son Adam Chamblee and Roy Chamblee, all of Huntington, Peggy Chamblee, Mark, Rickie and Joey Page; uncle, Garland Chamblee and wife Lorene, daughter Gwen and her son Matthew Bouslos, all of Huntington; lifelong friends, Steve and Melissa Ellington; second mother, Dorothy "Mama Dot" Snider of Zavalla; close friend, Mark Snider of Zavalla; and many other friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Buford Harris Chamblee. Pallbearers will be Michael Scott, Justin Manuel, Paul Page, Ricky Page, Joey Page, Mark Page. The family will receive friends from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday afternoon at the funeral home in Huntington. Carroway-Claybar Funeral Home, Huntington, directors.
