Dena Sorge Obituary
New London - Dena Marie Sorge, age 45, of New London, passed away on Friday, December 22, 2017 after a feisty battle with cancer. Dena was born on November 7, 1972 to Lyle and Yvonne (Jansen) Butts. She was a graduate of Menasha High School class of 1991. Dena was a point guard on the varsity basketball team. As a graduate of Fox Valley Technical College, Dena worked for many years as a transcriptionist with a local healthcare provider. She was recently employed by and enjoyed working at JJ Keller. Dena will forever be remembered as someone who loved to laugh and be active. Her love for basketball continued into adulthood as she enjoyed coaching her daughter's teams. She had great luck in the deer stand and on the lake and was notorious for out-hunting and out-fishing her brothers. Her greatest joys were attending her children's sporting events and anything to do with the outdoors, as long as they were together. Dena also treasured times spent with her family at Pelican Lake.
Dena is survived by her children, Dominic and Brianna and their father, Kevin; her parents; siblings, Debbie (Curt) Seefeld, Dave (Ann) Butts, Dan (Nancee) Butts and Dean (Debbie) Butts; nephew, Scott and nieces, Emily, Danielle, Jenna, Mikayla and Lydia.
Dena was preceded in death by grandparents, Walter and Frances Butts and Henry and Loretta Jansen.
A memorial service for Dena will be held at 11:00 a.m. at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Hortonville on Friday, December 29, 2017. Visitation will take place on Thursday, December 28, 2017 from 4-7 p.m. at Cline & Hanson Funeral Home in New London and again from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church Friday.

To the entire family ... I'm so so sorry for your loss. I will miss Dena. There will always be a empty spot in my heart. I remember how wonderfully compassionate Dena was to Grandma Jansen. Dena and Grandma were always an inspiration in my life. Dena's kindness and genuine love will forever be a guiding light for me.May God bless her with eternal happiness as I know that Dena and Grandma Jansen will keep each other company in God's shining light and love. I am so saddened to see this! My heart goes out to her children, her parents and her brothers and sister! She was such a huge part of my childhood and I will never forget her! I tried to meet up with her over the past year, but we were never able to. Rest in peace, my friend! I love you!!
