Denise Peterson, 53, of White Deer, passed away on December 19, 2023, with her family by her side.

Celebration of life services will be held 10:00AM, Thursday, December 28, 2023, at the Community Crossroads Church of White Deer with Pastor Robert Gifford, officiating. Burial will follow at the White Deer Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

Denise Rana Peterson was born on July 24, 1970, in Elkhart, KS to Bobby and Connie Anderson. She lived most of her childhood in Rolla, KS until she moved to Beaver, Oklahoma from which she graduated high school. After graduating high school, Denise enrolled at Seward County College where she met the love of her life, Jimmy Peterson. It didn’t take long for the happy couple to realize they were meant for one another. The two were married on December 15, 1989, in Liberal, KS.

In 1990 the couple traveled to Wichita, KS where they gave birth to their first child, Jessica Marie Peterson. A year later, Jimmy and Denise moved to Amarillo, TX where they gave birth to their second child in 1993, James Lloyd Peterson. Denise was devoted to her family and spent most of her time raising their two children and taking care of Jimmy. Once the children grew older Denise got a job with NEI and Amarillo Gear and worked there until they moved to Carson County, living in Panhandle and White Deer. Denise accepted the position as manager of White Deer Supply in 2013 where she was able to work alongside her children and Jimmy.

Denise’s grandchildren, Taylor and Ryder instantly became the light of her whole world. She adored and loved these babies fiercely. She was there for every milestone and always came running to the sound of “Grammy”. She also loved Cinnamon, her grand-dog.

Denise was very smart and talented. She loved to read and even taught herself to crochet. She found joy in crocheting toys, clothes, and other items for her family. Denise had the biggest and most giving heart of all. She was selfless, had a servant’s heart, and always put others before herself. She was the happiest when she knew that everyone around her was happy. Denise will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by father, Bobby Anderson, her paternal grandparents, Harold and Hope Anderson; her maternal grandmother, Darlene McCarter; her sister, Dana Anderson; and two brothers Rusty Anderson, and Valentine Castillo

Denise is survived by her husband, Jimmy Peterson of the home; a daughter, Jessica Wooldridge and spouse Reese Clark of White Deer; a son, James Peterson, of White Deer; two grandchildren, Taylor Wooldridge, and Ryder Wooldridge, both of White Deer, mother, Connie Williams of Forgan, OK; stepmother, Mague Anderson of Hugoton, KS; grandfather, Burt McCarter, of Forgon, OK; siblings, Tim Anderson and wife Kimberly of Panhandle, Jason Williams and wife Landy of Higgins, Jason Little and wife Carolyn of Higgins, BJ Anderson and wife Natasha of Pittsboro, N.C., Amanda Bobeck and husband Aaron of Williamsport, PA, Margarita Leonhart and husband Mike of Olathe, KS, Rodrigo Castillo, Olathe, KS, Patty Enax and husband Barry, Osoyoos, British Columbia, Shelly Langley and husband Brad of Port Arthur, Terry Boyle and husband Steve of Vancouver, British Columbia, Doug Peterson of Amarillo, and Donnie Peterson and wife Katrina of Amarillo; and 32 nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
