Mr. Dennis G. "Abe" Abraham, 80, of Concord, left this worldWednesday, Feb. 1, 2023, following a courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease.

The family will receive friends Sunday, Feb. 19 from 2 to 4 p.m., at Wilkinson Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Monday, Feb. 20, at 11 a.m., at St. James the Greater Catholic Church. An inurnment service will be private for the family.

Abe was born in Passaic County, N.J., a son of the late Louis J. and Elizabeth Abraham. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Louis R. Abraham.

Abe grew up in Clifton, N.J., and attended Farleigh Dickinson University and Syracuse University. He started working for IBM in Endicott, N.Y., in 1964. In 1979, IBM transferred him to Charlotte where he retired with honors in 1991. Abe then started a cryptography business which he enjoyed until Alzheimer's slowed him down in 2017. He possessed a brilliant mind and a wicked wit. He had many interests that spanned from Amateur Radio, restoration of his beloved 1965 GTO, music, horticulture, traveling, and obtaining his pilot's license. He was also a member of St. James the Greater Catholic Church.

Survivors include his loving wife of 57 years, Gail W. Abraham; his son, Steve Abraham of Charlotte; daughters, Mary Beth Osborne (Matt) of Coventry, Conn., and Lisa Howie (Dustin) of Mint Hill; five grandchildren, Roby Abraham, Isabel Osborne, Eloise Osborne, Dustin Trent Howie Jr., and Natalie Howie; brother, Richie Abraham (JoAnn) of Fairfield, Pa.; and many other loving relatives and friends.
