My cousin Den and I were the same age and always played together twice a year when his dad, the Reverend Earven A Andersen, would bring his family to Jamestown, NY, to be be with his parents, Chris and Marie, and the rest of their family. We always had a great time, but didn't see each other much after being in the Air Force due to the distance between us. Since 2010 my brother Lorry and I got together with Den in Michigan every other year at various attractions on our way home from EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh, WI. Den will be missed. He was my best cousin.

I was a fellow employee with Dennis at the Admin Bldg. Such a class act and kind man.

I started working for the Rochester schools in 1977 and met Dennis shortly there after. As I got to know him I found him to be a very nice gentleman. After a few years I came to work directly with him in the warehouse. It was very interesting learning things from and about him. One of the things I remember that makes me laugh as I think about it is when he would have a project that we needed accomplish, he would only tell me one step at a time and didn't tell me the next step until we finished the one we were working on. For a long time I wondered why he would always do things that way, and then I came to realize that if I only knew one step at a time, I wouldn't be able to ask why we are doing it this way and not to suggest the way I thought we could possible do it. He knew me well enough to know that I always had an opinion and didn't hold back expressing it. That was a very smart move on his part. Dennis was a great co-worker but more then that he came to be a very special friend. I will dearly miss his friendship and kindness.

Sincerely, Tammy Potter

Oh Dennis, I will miss hearing your voice on the phone. Though we were married for only three years they were the best years of my life and I never stopped loving you. I always enjoyed our phone conversations through the years especially the last one that was two weeks ago. I wish that I was technologically sound enough to post at least one of our many pictures together. We had a fun life. Dennis, you were "good people" as you always said. I will think of you often as I have throughout the years. I'm lighting a vanilla candle in your name. We didn't have much but we always had vanilla candles. Tina Lee Andersen Cuykendall

Uncle Den will be forever remembered in our hearts. Ever since I was young he would tell funny stories that held my interest. We will miss you and love you always.

Dennis was my parents' neighbor for numerous years. He was ALWAYS so kind and thoughtful to both of them, always looking out for them. He and my dad used to read and discuss and suggest books and talk together about being in the service. When my dad had to go to the nursing home, Dennis visited him there, taking him things to read and do. When my dad died, Dennis made sure to take even more care of my mom...checking on her if he hadn't seen her in a while, calling her if her garage door was left open, just checking in to see if she needed anything or help with anything. He was a prince of a man and we will miss him, his smile, his voice, his easy-going personality, and his wonderful outlook on life!

I met and worked with Dennis at Rochester Community Schools; I'll always remember his positive, encouraging outlook and words, and especially his smile and laugh. I've thought of him many times over the years and offer my deepest sympathy to his family and friends.
