Dennis Lyle Auchterlonie

Dennis Lyle Auchterlonie, 73, of Watauga, Texas, passed away on November 5, 2023. He was born on November 16, 1949, in Lawrence, Massachusetts. Dennis was a beloved husband to Anita Auchterlonie, a devoted father to Elizabeth Kelly, and a proud grandfather.

Dennis grew up in Andover, Massachusetts, as the middle child of his family. At the age of 18, in 1968, he joined the Air Force, where he served with honor until his honorable discharge. Dennis's military associations were with the Air Force, and he took great pride in his service to his country.

After leaving the military, Dennis married Anita Cole, and together they had their beautiful daughter, Elizabeth Auchterlonie. He cherished spending time with his granddaughter and found joy in their company.

Dennis had a passion for WWII and western-style shooting events. He loved going to the range and participating in club events and activities that centered around his hobbies. His dedication to his interests was evident to all who knew him.

A Celebration of Life service for Dennis will be held at a later date, and the details will be determined by the family. Shannon Funeral Home, located at 6001 Rufe Snow Dr., Fort Worth, Texas 76148, is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Dennis is survived by his sisters, Donna Auchterlonie and Debbie Auchterlonie Parolisi, his wife Anita Auchterlonie, his daughter Elizabeth Kelly, and his granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Auchterlonie and Mildred Collins Auchterlonie, and his brother, Robert Auchterlonie.

Dennis Lyle Auchterlonie will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. May his memory be a source of comfort and strength during this difficult time.
