Dennis Ball

Dennis Ball, age 88, passed away on Monday, November 3, 2025.

Dennis Ball was born March 17, 1937, in Waupun, the son of Lawrence and Violet (Soper) Ball. Dennis attended Waupun schools, graduating from Waupun High School in 1956. He enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving three years.

Dennis married Donna Wiese and they became parents of Bill and Brian. Following the military, Dennis was employed by Carnation Company in Waupun. He later became employed by the United States Postal Service in Waupun and moved on to become Postmaster in Merrill, retiring in 1997 after over 30 years. Dennis loved the outdoors where he enjoyed many types of hunting and fishing. He was a member of Alto Christian Reformed Church.

Dennis is survived by his two sons, Bill (Ann Marie) Ball of Menasha and Brian (Sharon) Ball of Waupun; three grandchildren, Lynzi (Matt Gardipee), Nicholas (Katelyn) and Nathan (Raeven) and four great-grandchildren, Maisen, Brooklyn, Madilyn, and Tyson; and is further survived by other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his past wife, Donna; and his step-father, Harold Budde.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 7, 2025 at Werner Harmsen Funeral Home from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 7, 2025 at 1 p.m. at Werner Harmsen Funeral Home with Pastor Forsell Gappa officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Mound Cemetery in Waupun with military honors provided by American Legion Post 210.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Heroe's Hunt for Veterans.
