Dennis Dinter Obituary

Celebration of life services for Dennis A. Dinter, 62, of Davenport, will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12, at Weerts Funeral Home, Davenport. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal, with military honors provided by the Davenport American Legion Post 26.
Dennis Allen Dinter was born June 19, 1941, in Batavia, N.Y., the son of John and Ruth (Forrester) Dinter. On Sept. 16, 1989, Dennis was united in marriage to Janet Wiese Kirby in Davenport.
Dennis retired in 1981 from the U.S. Air Force, following a career of 20 years of military service. He later retired from Davenport Medical Center in 1996.
Survivors include his wife, Janet; his mother, Ruth Dinter, Marion, Iowa; daughters, Dee (John) Riter and Denise (William) Brown, both of Yorktown, Va., and Darcie (Mark) Eggelston, Williamsburg, Va.; stepdaughters, Anne Kirby, Princeton, Iowa, and Tracy (Damien) Dassie, Pleasant Valley, Iowa; a son, David (Ruth) Dinter, of Harrisburg, Pa.: stepsons, Richard W. (Carol) Kirby and Jeffrey Kirby, all of Princeton, Iowa; 14 grandchildren; and two sisters, Dottie (Mel) Huerter, Marion, Iowa, and Dianne Dinter (Richard Prohaska), Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Dennis was preceded in death by his grandparents and his father, John Dinter.
Memorials may be made to the Scott County Humane Society or to Heartland Hospice.
