Dennis Hickey passed away suddenly after a brief illness on April 29, 2023. Born in 1961, he was a lifelong resident of the Tacoma area.

Dennis served in the army at Fort Huachuca, AZ. His long-time career was as an engineer for BNSF Railway. In his spare time Dennis enjoyed boating, spending time with friends, travel, and football, especially the University of Washington Huskies. He loved to debate and discuss topics with his vast knowledge; he was referred to as a walking encyclopedia more than a few times.

Friends and family were very important to Dennis. He was generous and quick to help anyone in need. He is survived by his children: Mekelle Wilson-Wills and Bryan Wilson, his grandchildren: Adilynn and Declan, his mother Mary and siblings Erin, Barbara, Michael, Catherine (John) and Patrick (Peggy). Dennis was preceded in death by his father, Frank.

Services to be held at Tacoma's Holy Cross Catholic Church 11 am on May 24, 10 am rosary precedes the funeral mass. Inurnment at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers or gifts, Dennis would want you to help those in need, whether friend, family or someone you encounter.

Dennis you are so missed, you have always been a part of the Brooks family. If you were not at a family gathering or running late, we were always like" where is Dennis"! All of us love you, the world has lost such a wonderful sweet spirit, Jesus has called you home.

I am fortunate to be able to count Dennis as one of my most cherished friends for over 47 years. I will miss him very much. My condolences to his entire family.
