We met Dennis when we were associated with the Richmond Girls Softball Association - what a wonderful man and coach - with always a smile and an encouraging word - you could tell he loved what he was doing. Our deepest condolences to the family.

To the family of Dennis:
I worked with Dennis for many years at the Richmond Works Yard. He was a very special man and I was so very sad to hear of his passing. He shared with me many times the great love he had for his family. I enjoyed seeing the pride in his face when he used to bring his little girls into the office on pay day, you could tell they meant the world to him. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.

Dennis Minns - "A great guy"

Dear Gayle, Meghan, Carly, Mrs. Minns and family:
Dennis was a great guy ~ one of the best. We were class mates from Grade 8 onward. He was liked by everyone. I have found great comfort in the following poem when faced with a loss, I hope it will do the same for you.
The Rose Beyond the Wall
Near a shady wall a rose once grew,
Budded and blossomed in God's free light,
Watered and fed by the morning dew,
Shedding it's sweetness day and night.
As it grew and blossomed fair and tall,
Slowly rising to loftier height,
It came to a crevice in the wall
Through which there shone a beam of light.
Onward it crept with added strength
With never a thought of fear or pride,
It followed the light through the crevice's length
And unfolded itself on the other side.
The light, the dew, the broadening view
Were found the same as they were before,
And it lost itself in beauties new,
Breathing it's fragrance more and more.
Shall claim of death cause us to grieve
And make our courage faint and fall?
Nay! Let us faith and hope receive--
The rose still grows beyond the wall,
Scattering fragrance far and wide
Just as it did in days of yore,
Just as it did on the other side,
Just as it will forevermore.
Sent with love and sympathy,
Beth McKenzie and friends from Richmond High Class of 1972

Dennis gave his time , patience, and talents to hundreds of amateur kids in sports he coached. He came by that naturally and it is a tribute to his parents who raised him to be such a wonderful person. Dennis will be missed but will not be forgotten as he has touched the many lives of those kids, and parents that will keep him in their memories for life. I am a better person for knowing him. Gayle, Meghan, Carly, my deepest sympathy.
