Dennis Craig Rankin
Memorial Service for Dennis Craig Rankin, 87 of Lufkin Texas will be held Monday, February 3, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Christ Congregational Church in Lufkin with Reverend Randall Green.Mr. Rankin was born on December 26, 1937, in South Bend, IN to the late Jack Wonders Rankin and Evelyn (Primrose) Rankin. He died January 28, 2025. He retired from Champion International. He enjoyed golf, bridge and photography. He was also active at his church, Lufkin Rotary Club and received a Paul Harris Fellowship award. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Joan (Miller) Rankin of Lufkin; a brother Bruce Rankin and his wife, Karen Rankin of Simpsonville, SC; son Kye and his wife, Heidi Rankin of Woodbury, MN; son Shaun and his wife, Brandy Rankin of Lexington, SC; son Dane Rankin of West Columbia, SC; Granddaughters Stacia Rankin of Savage, MN; Alyssa (Rankin) Holm and her husband, Michael Holm of Apple Valley, MN; Addison (Rankin) Knapp and her husband Michael Knapp of Irmo, SC; Crystal Rankin of Lexington, SC; Grandson Zachary Rankin of Columbia, SC and 3 Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and Grandson, Jax Wonders Rankin. Special Memorials may be made to Christ Congregational church at 105 Saddle Creek, Lufkin, TX 75904 or the charity of your choice.

I am so saddened to hear the news of Dennis´s passing. I was in the Atlanta office with Champion Paper when I traveled to Lufkin to tour the paper mill and met Dennis for the first time. I remember his kindness and genuine smile. He opened up his beautiful home to us one evening which was a wonderful memory of my visit to Lufkin, TX. May he R.I.P.
