Dennis L "Robbie" Robinson

Dennis "Robbie" Pendleton, IN L Robinson Known as Robbie to most and Denny to many, our husband, brother, uncle and friend battled leukemia for two years and moved into his next chapter on October 8, 2022. He was surrounded by his wife Leila along with family and friends who traveled to be with him during his last days.

Robbie had the joy of living and exploring for 45 years with Leila. Their mutual respect and admiration for each other will always be a shining example for their 44 nieces and nephews and all who knew them.

A magnet for kids with his teasing and tickling, Robbie kept the kid in himself alive and fostered young-at-heart in every person he met. His friendships stretched not only down the lane of the home he built with Leila, but across the country. He carried his love of community and IU basketball as they traveled gathering friends and family for adventures, ski trips, golf outings and many trips to the mountains.

Robbie was known as the man you could count on for any project or task - even for a friend of a friend of a friend! Whether that help took the form of being a Wood-delivering Fairy, a Car-cleaning Ninja, or the PHHS Parking Lot Ice-scraping Bandit, Robbie was there to help. Just two weeks ago, he was planning to visit a nephew and asked, "What tools should I bring?"

His love for the outdoors was contagious. It included sharing beloved Glacier National Park with hundreds of friends and family over 16 summers. Even those friends who had never climbed a mountain, he encouraged them to the top. After a long day of hiking and reveling in the outdoors, Robbie always invited everyone back to their home for a meal, a beer, or a bonfire.

Born in 1947 and raised in Pendleton, Indiana, Robbie grew up with his brother Mike and his late sister Linda. He loved sitting on the porch of their house across the street from Falls Park. As a boy he worked as a lifeguard at the swimming hole and at his Dad's DX filling station before making his career as an electrician at Delco Remy. Robbie brought practical jokes and an unmatched work-ethic to all aspects of his life.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests mail in contributions to Falls Park, 460 Falls Park Dr., Pendleton, IN 46064. There will be no formal service. He has donated his body to medical science. We ask that you celebrate Robbie's life and gather with your loved ones and take a walk or enjoy the outdoors in his memory.
