Denny was my first swim coach and he made each of us feel special, especially by giving us nicknames :-) He made practices fun not matter how difficult they were. I was in the class right after he left coaching Mayo so I never got to swim as a high school athlete for him which was a loss. I went on coach swimming for many years and used him as part if my influence. Thank you for everything Coach!

Denny was one of the most influential teachers and friends in my life. I know he touch so many young people's lives during his time at Mayo. He was a wonderful supportive person both inside and out side of his role as a teacher and coach. I send my deepest sympathy to Denny's family. My Aunt just past this summer from Lewy Bodies. I know how difficult that must have been for him. Rest peacefully Denny.

Denny was my beloved swim coach, who gave unconditional support while he pushed me to my limits. For his lessons outside the pool too, my life is inestimably richer for Denny's influence.

I remember Denny during my years at Mayo H. S. and that he was one of the judges during track meets. He was truly an athlete, teacher and coach. May he and his family have peace.

My deepest sympathy's…Denny helped give me confidence to try new things while I was in high school. I lettered in swimming and I didn't even swim…Denny wanted me to video tape the swimmers to help them improve. What encouragement! RIP

Denny was a good friend. In addition to the swim coaching mentioned, Denny was a great basketball coach. He was very involved with the Lourdes youth girls basketball teams, coaching the St. Francis girls, and the LHS travelling teams at the 6th-8th grade level. He was a big part in the success of my daughters, and their respective teams. Later, both of these teams at Lourdes were 30-0 and state champs. Thank you Denny for all that you did. You were always a positive, stand up guy.I'll always have great memories of you!
