I was sad to hear of Dennys passing. I had many years working for him and I was a pleasure to be a part of his team. My condolences to the family and friends of Denny. Nadine Fortier

I had the privilege of meeting "Denny" at Bob's annual fish fry on Sept. 7, 2024. What a kind, wonderful, loving man. I know he will be greatly missed!

First met Denny around 1976 when my daughter and I went to his hair studio. My husband, Gino Scarpelli, was a golfing buddy with Denny and enjoyed many golf outings and league together. Denny even came to the hospital and rehab when Gino had his stroke and cut Gino´s hair. He was kind like that and they are golfing and teasing each other again in heaven. May the angels welcome him into paradise. Rest in peace.
In Christs name, Mary Scarpelli

Actually, I have two memories. When one sat in Denny's chair, it wasn't just for the cut; it was also for the stories. As Denny tells it-he was a senior in high school and he was tearing up the Upper Peninsula in basketball. The coach was getting a little perturbed with his long-haired basketball players and said that if the hair wasn't shorn to his liking, they's sit the bench for the upcoming game. Denny and his close friend decided to pick up a pair of shears and take care of the coach's request. Denny, seemingly with an innate talent for cutting hair, did a credible job on his friend's long locks. On the flip side, his friend did a nice hack job on Denny's curls. To cover up the noticeable gaps, they decided to "color in" the blank spaces with hair dye. The game begins. Denny is hitting his shots and as you'd assume, he was working hard, sweating. As the game progresses, black streaks start running down his neck, ala Rudy Giuliani, 2020, at his infamous press conference. His teammates (except for one) had no idea what was going on!
The second memory was how every hair-cut ended. Denny would grab the small mirror, angle it towards the back of your head, and hope that your sense of satisfaction equaled his sense of pride. I'm thinking that he has cut hair for Red Wings, Tigers, and he is cutting MY hair. Don't worry about it, Denny, it's always a GREAT CUT!
See you on the back nine,
Fred Cohen

In July 2024, my grandpa took my mom, my son and I through a small neighborhood parade in his Amphicar. We drove it right into the lake after the parade.
