DENNIS D. WILLIAMS
August 15, 1955 ˜ October 16,
2022

We are sad to announce the passing of Dennis Williams, of Battle Ground, WA. He will be greatly missed and will always hold a place in our hearts. He was 67 years old.
Dennis was born in Kennewick, WA, to Rose Marie (Kirk) and Richard D. Williams. Soon he moved to California and settled in the beautiful Gold Country of Amador County, CA, where he attended high school. During high school, he played varsity tennis and varsity basketball. He also sang in the choir and played several instruments in the band. Dennis played the french horn, the accordion, the organ, and the guitar. During his high school years, he had a small rock band which played at local events. He graduated from high school in Yakima, WA, and then spent a summer working at Lake Tahoe.
In the mid-70s he moved to Battle Ground, WA, where he met Judy Morris. They married in 1975 and raised their three children in Venersborg, east of Battle Ground. Dennis enjoyed having a horse and several cows there, as well as beautiful German shepherd dogs. He loved his family very much and treasured time with his children and grandchildren. Some of his happiest moments were spent waterskiing with friends and family at Lake Shasta, CA, or at Yale Lake in Washington state. He attended Battle Ground Baptist Church, helping with youth group outings and singing on the praise team.
During his work career he fulfilled a childhood dream by becoming a Clark County Sheriff’s Office deputy. Later, he was a 911 dispatcher at Clark Regional Emergency Services Agency in Vancouver, WA. At one point during his 19 years of service at the 911 dispatch center, he appeared in an episode of the television show “Rescue 911.” We honor his service in law enforcement.
After retiring from his law enforcement career he became a successful real estate broker in Clark County. Most recently, he worked with Premiere Property Group listing residential homes and property. He was well respected by others in his field and was known for his honesty.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Judy Williams; his children, Mike (Lisa), Shawn (Amy), and Jenny Bennier (Luke); ten grandchildren, Sarah, Abby, Jacob, Daniel, Caleb, Sam, Becca, Micah, Brielle and Jonah, all of Clark County; stepmother, Sharlyn Williams; his sister, Debi Little (Lee); his brothers, Rick Williams (Cindy) and Storm Williams; and his sister, Maria; along with many nieces and nephews. His father Richard D. Williams and mother Rose Marie (Heidi) Odin preceded him in death.
There will be a public viewing at Layne’s Funeral Home in Battle Ground on Thursday, Oct. 27 from 12:00-7:00 p.m. for anyone who would like to attend. His celebration of life will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2022, at Battle Ground Baptist Church. We would love you to come and honor his life.

Dennis was one of my favorite people. Scott and I got to know Dennis and Judy through real estate probably 15 years ago. Dennis invited us to the church they were attending and where my best friend accepted Christ as her personal savior. It was not unusual for me to contact Dennis for his thoughts on real estate as he was a person I respected for his logic and knowledge. We ended up moving to Premiere Property Group based upon his recommendation. We will really miss him and pray for Judy and his kids.

As a child, I remember sleeping out with Cousin Dennis on the farmhouse floor of our basement, visiting him in much warmer California and trying to learn how to waterski with his patient instruction. I always loved the laughter that came from deep inside his soul. As an adult, I will be forever grateful for his gracious and respectful approach to selling the home I raised my own children in. I trusted him 110%. A smile comes to my face when I think of you Dennis. God prepared a room for you in His eternal home (heaven) before you were even born. My deepest sympathy goes out to all the family. May you all be blessed with God's peace and comfort when there are no words. Sending a hug, Cousin Cheryl and family.

I have such fond memories of Dennis teaching me to drive a car, ride a wakeboard, and wear the proper bike riding gear. He looked out for me. I will always love him for the care he showed and the fun he created. And for how many times he let me have sleepovers with Jenny. I know he will be missed by so many. Sending my love during this difficult time.
