Dear Sharon and Family,
I'm so very sad to hear of Denny's passing. It was really wonderful to reconnect with Denny and finally meet you when I was in Edmonton, a few years ago. Denny was a part of our lives (Marilyn & I - our parents were Forbes & Loretta) for as long as I can remember! As young girls, he participated in our birthday parties and of course, the infamous Grey Cup parties. We loved it when he came over with his snazzy new cars and, he had a few of them. He was known in our circle as “handsome Ranson”.
Someone mentioned how he could spin a tale. Here's one he always told me; He was to take my wedding photos but an important assignment pulled him away to London. He told how he walked into a small English pub ordered a drink, raised his glass and said, "Ladies & Gentlemen, to the bride!” he said he gulped down his drink, slammed the glass down and walked out of the pub, leaving a bewildered group behind, wondering what that crazy Canadian was up to.
He will be a part of our hearts forever. Rest in peace dear friend, you will be missed by many.
Aloha, a hui hou,

Terry Ranson

"May you see God's light on the path ahead
When the road you walk is dark.
May you always hear,
Even in your hour of sorrow,
The gentle singing of the lark.
When times are hard may hardness
Never turn your heart to stone,
May you always remember
when the shadows fall—
You do not walk alone"

All of you are in our thoughts and prayers.

Although the travel and worry about the road prevented me from coming up today, you were all on my mind, I am so sad for the loss of a wonderful man, Uncle Denny. I will miss him , his humour and the way he saw the world! I will miss laughing with him on our phone calls, keep well and I will see you all in the summer. May the wind always be at your back Denny....Love Elizabeth, Dean Emma and Harrison.
