Deree Starr Causey

Deree Starr Causey, 65, of Marietta, GA, passed away on November 18, 2024. Born on July 10, 1959, Deree was a strong, independent, and selfless woman who dedicated 32 years of her professional life to Hanover Insurance Company.

Deree was a beloved figure in her family, survived by her father, Arthur Clarence Cole Jr., stepmother Patsy Cole, sister Sheryl Hudson, brother-in-law JH Hudson, brother Ricky Cole, sister-in-law Lynn Cole, half-sister Renae Forrester, and her husband Vince Forrester. She was a cherished mother to Niki Hou and Heather Billups, mother-in-law to Andy Hou, and adored nanny to Avery Hou, McKenzie Goggins, McKayla Billups, and McKendra Billups. Deree also leaves behind her nieces Tanya Obosla, Autumn Cole, and Amber Yackzan, along with their spouses.

She was preceded in death by her mother Betty Cole, her firstborn granddaughter Ansley Hou, and her grandparents Fred and Ruth Woody, Ruby and RC Endicott, Arthur Clarence Cole, as well as her Uncle Donald Woody.

Deree enjoyed spending quality time with her family and friends, especially her five granddaughters. Her life was a testament to the bonds of family and going out her way to do for others before herself.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park, 1861 Dallas Hwy, Marietta GA, on Friday, November 22, 2024, at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, an IRA has been set up for the future education of her four living granddaughters. Deree's top priority was the well being of her grandchildren and their future and led by example the importance of being a strong woman of faith.
