To the Burton family,
I'm truly sorry to hear of the passing of Derek. It brings tears to my eyes. He had always had a great friendly heart and smile. I've only known him since 2003 but I've known him of being a great man/father, wanting only to work hard to achieve his goals. I became weary of not hearing from him.. Then came across the passing. Last of hearing from him he was leavening to work out in the ocean on a boat.. Sending my condolences and many prayers to the family and friends.. stay strong, keep his memories strong.. Derek will b truly missed..

To the Burton family,
I have spent the last days thinking about how to express my sympathies to you, in words. I have yet to find them. I knew Derek for a very short time while working at Rivers Edge for two seasons.
