CAMPBELL, Derek Chad Derek Chad Campbell of Edmonton, formerly of Taber, unexpectedly passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2002 at the age of 27 years. Derek was born in Taber on December 5, 1974, one of four children born to Linda and Reg Campbell. He was raised and educated in Taber, first attending D.A. Ferguson and later graduated from W.R. Meyers High School in 1994. While in High School, Derek participated in many sports including basketball, baseball, football and badminton. Aside from sports, at a young age he developed an interest in fishing and carried on throughout his life. Following High School he worked in the Oil Industry in the Taber area for short time and then decided to continue his education. Derek enrolled in a Computer Tech. Program at Grant MacEwan College in Edmonton and upon completion he gained employment with Maxxam Analytics Inc. where he worked as a Lab Analyst until the present time. Derek will be forever remembered and cherished by his mother, Linda Campbell and her special friend Glenn; his father Reg Campbell (Pearl Deley); a brother, Dean Campbell and his children, Robert Chad, Chantel Love and Jessie Dean; a brother, Scott (Angie) Campbell; his sister, Amanda Campbell (Dave Nelson) and his special "little angel" Annysea; his grandma Pickett and step-grandpa Al. Derek is also survived by Pearl Deley's children, Scott Deley, Craig Deley and Kim Deley as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Gordon Pickett; his paternal grandparents, Wilbur and Dorothy Campbell; an uncle, Bill Wilson and a cousin Jackie Dymterko. Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at the Southland Funeral Chapel (5006 - 48th Avenue) Taber, on Friday, August 16, 2002 from 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. The Funeral Service will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (5314 - 54th Street) Taber, on Saturday, August 17, 2002 at 11:00 A.M. with Bishop Larry Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in the Taber Memorial Garden. If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Derek's name can be made directly to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Alberta, 1011 - 2nd Ave. South, Lethbridge, Alberta T1J 0C8.
