I was saddened to hear of Derek's passing. We shared a love of sports especially the Leafs and the Blue Jays. He was also a devoted Wilkie Outlaw fan and missed very few games. He was definately in his element sitting in the broadcast booth with Joe. He will be fondly remembered in Wilkie.

I was sorry to hear of your loss. I have a vivid picture in my mind of Derek cracking up and almost falling over with laughter from the smallest little thing that he found hilarious. His wide grin would always make you feel good too, even if you were having a bad day!

I have only known Derek for a short period of time. In that time, I found Derek to be fun loving, caring and thoughtful. Derek loved sports. Especially hockey, baseball and football. He always enjoyed sharing the results of the games with me. Everytime I saw Derek he spoke foundly of his family - he loved them very deeply. Derek taught me an important life lesson. When you miss someone, be sure to let them know.

So sorry for your loss,I remember Derek when he lived in Wilkie.I never worked with him,but he came to my house with my daughter Glenna-Lee for cofee all the time & I know how much she love working with him!
