Too many good times to count, let alone show. Derek was fiercely loyal to his family. Loved a good time and a hearty laugh. He was a lead dog, a warrior, and enjoyed poking fun at himself and the world. The world was a better place for him having been on it. RIP Derek. RIP. xoxoxo

Derek and I had a shared passion about WW2. It was fascinating hearing his stories about his father and his various experiences growing up. You will be missed....

Derek was a true gentleman and friend to so many in the Los Angeles Market. I was so happy for him when he decided to retire and move to CO. He had so much more living to do and so many more stories to tell. You will be missed my friend.....

Derek was my advisor for many years at Merrill. He was extremely patient and taught me a lot about investing. More than that, he was a terrific listener, storyteller, and good friend...I regret too much of that time was spent on the phone instead of in person. He will be missed by all who were fortunate to have known him.
