Desmond Jones Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 30, 2025.
It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Desmond Tarell Jones, who departed this world far too soon on September 28, 2025, in Round Rock, Texas, at the age of 50. After a courageous and swift battle with stage 4 pancreatic cancer-diagnosed just months earlier on July 18-Desmond spent his final days surrounded by love and comfort at home with the support of hospice care. True to his spirited nature, he found joy even in his final moments, watching Alabama triumph over Georgia and seeing LSU fall to Ole Miss on replay. A die-hard Crimson Tide fan to the end, Desmond left this world doing what he loved.

Born on April 6, 1975, in Anniston, Alabama, Desmond carried the values of resilience, loyalty, and hard work throughout his life. He served honorably in the United States Marine Corps for three years, a testament to his dedication and strength. Following his military service, Desmond built a remarkable career spanning over two decades as a General Manager at Taco Bell and various other restaurants. His leadership was instrumental in transforming underperforming locations into high-volume successes. His efforts did not go unnoticed-he received multiple recognitions for his commitment to excellence and his ability to lead with integrity and determination. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Desmond's unwavering dedication kept doors open and teams supported during uncertain times.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Desmond was a devoted family man whose greatest joy came from spending time with those he loved most. He is survived by his beloved wife, Natasha Jones; his children, Darion Rogers, Elisa Rogers, Cailyn Jones, D'Ayjah Jones, Elijah Jones, Xavier Jones, and Isabelle Pittaway; and grandchildren who brought him endless pride. His mother, Paulette Jones, and sister, Shakira Montgomery, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. His family was very important to him, and when he could, he loved cheering them on-whether it was from the sidelines of a game or the audience of a performance.

Desmond also found great happiness in the simple pleasures of life: Saturdays filled with Alabama football and moments spent watching his children grow and thrive. His booming laugh, sharp wit, love for music, and generous heart left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his sister Christye Young and his father, Lawrence "Pierre" Jones.

During this time of profound loss, the family extends their heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support they have received.

Though his time here was far too brief, Desmond's strength, humor, love, and legacy will live on in all who had the privilege of knowing him. May his memory bring comfort to those who mourn him and inspiration to those who carry forward his spirit.

A Memorial Service will be held on October 5, 2025, from 02:30 PM to 03:30 PM at World Changers Empowerment Center Church, 1800 Wilmer Ave. Anniston, Alabama 36201. Please wear purple in honor of Pancreatic Cancer Awareness.
