Devin Gibbons Obituary
Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 14, 2022.
Devin Kaleigh Gibbons, born September 2, 1994, and beloved mother to Naomi (6) and Harrison (3), was tragically taken from us on Sunday, September 18, 2022, at the young age of 28. She was preceded in death by her mother Angie Ingraham at a very young age. Devin is survived by her loving parents Kevin Gibbons and Julie Jackson, sister to Valerie, Matthew, Michaela, Gabby, and Gina, and proud aunt of Dahlia, Killian, and Cleo. She was an adored granddaughter, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend to so many.
Devin was a bright light and beautiful soul who has left countless people devastated by her loss. She was first and foremost a proud, dedicated, and hard-working mother to her precious babies who made up the entirety of her world. She was everything to Naomi and Harrison and they were everything to her. Devin was a fighter and advocate, always working hard to provide for her kids and establish a home filled with unconditional love.
Aside from being a mommy, Devin's favorite things to do included anything that involved her siblings, her large extended family, and her friends. She loved laughter, adventure, and just being together with those she loved fiercely. Devin loved to take camping trips with her friends and their kids and was grateful her friendships led to such a special bond among their children as well. She was authentic and genuine and believed in standing up for what she thought was right regardless of circumstance. She had the brightest smile, the most captivating eyes, and the deepest understanding of the importance of self-care, boundaries, and working hard to create a life you love.
Devin absolutely loved her job and could sell glasses to anyone! She would even tell people what glasses would be best for them when not at work. She had such a great sense of fashion, loved accessories, shoes, and enjoyed piecing everything together to come up with such authentic looks that always embodied her fun, joyful spirit. Devin always gave people the benefit of the doubt, never judged, and could always find the best in anyone. She was the biggest lover of life and will be remembered, loved, and missed every day.
There are so many questions. While we can't share much during the investigation, we can share that it wasn't an accident. Her life was stolen by someone who felt they had the right to make such a decision. Among the devastation, confusion, and rage, we realize the seemingly impossible wait is essential to bring her justice and get it right - something we are grateful to the law enforcement working day and night to find. We won't rest, and we promise we will share her story.
A private family funeral service is scheduled to take place on Sunday, October 16, 2022, and a larger celebration of life will be scheduled in early 2023. In honor of Devin, please kindly consider donating to the fund established for her children's future. We are in disbelief her life was cut short but promise to provide for her kids the way she would have continued to do so no matter what. Devin, we will always love and miss you.
