Diana Lewis Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 4, 2024.
Diana Lynn Lewis, 55, went to be with the Lord on February 21, 2024 following a courageous battle with brain cancer. Her legacy, however, transcends the confines of illness, defined instead by the incredible passion and resilience she brought to life.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Savannah Lindquist (Aaron) and Sarah Lewis-Butler; her mother, Audrey Lewis; her grandson, Tatum Butler; her sister, Cheri Rust (John); and her nephews and niece, Hunter, Robert, and Callie Rust. Among those who held a special place in her heart were lifelong best friend, Audrey Kramer, and her beloved dog, Little Man.

Diana faced her initial encounter with Oligodendroglioma with remarkable courage, igniting her passion for volunteering with the American Cancer Society. She dedicated her time to the ACS Road to Recovery Program, providing transportation for fellow survivors to their treatments. Additionally, Diana utilized her crafting skills to raise thousands of dollars through the ACS Relay for Life initiative.

Quick-witted and tenacious, Diana inherited her father's dry sense of humor. She found joy in arts and crafts, solving word puzzles, and bringing laughter through her sarcasm. An avid enthusiast of Jimmy Buffett and occasional indulger in Maker's Mark bourbon, she cherished moments with family and friends.

Diana was preceded in death by her sister, Sandra Lewis, in infancy, her father, Robert Lewis, and her Aunt and Uncle, Mabel and Stanley Davison. She also mourned the loss of her lifelong friend, Bridget Ferry.

More than anything, Diana treasured being Grandma Diana to her nine-month-old grandson, Tatum.

In lieu of flowers, honor Diana's memory by calling your mom.

I'm very sorry to hear of Diana's passing. She was a close friend of my sister Bridget and they're together again in Heaven.

Diana and I knew each other a long time. After we became adults and mothers, Di made sure we got some time to spend together. We had a standing date for a late dinner at the middletown diner and the food shopping, which is nice and empty after 10pm. When we lived far apart from each we could spend hours and hours on the phone with each other. If we were out of contact with each other we would be able to pick up like no time has passed. I will miss her and miss being able to share our lives.

I will always remember when you were born! We were so happy! From day one on you were always surprising us. Your strength was amazing always! I will always miss you but I know you´re no longer suffering! Love you and will see you one day again! Mom
