After a courageous battle with cancer, Diana Dickens Osborn entered into perpetual light Monday, Sept. 19, 2011, in Florence, Ala.
Diana was born in Houston, Texas, on April 30, 1958, and lived in St. Louis, London, El Dorado, Ark., Dallas and Cherokee, Ala. She was the daughter of the late Homer Derrell Dickens, of De Witt, Ark., and the late Evelyn Wood Dickens, of El Dorado, Ark. She graduated from El Dorado High School, attended Stephens and received her bachelor's degree from Southern Methodist University. She earned her master's degree in speech-language pathology at the University of Texas-Dallas. In addition to her private practice in speech-language pathology, she served multiple school districts in Dallas, Texas and north Alabama.
Diana was married to Robert J. "Bo" Osborn Jr.; they have two sons, Addison and Austin, all of whom live in Florence, Ala. She is survived by her brothers, Mark Dickens, of Collierville, Tenn., and Jeff Dickens, of Dallas, Texas; the Dillard family; other loving family members; and many precious friends.
Diana was an active member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Florence. She served her community through the Florence City School Education Foundation, the St. Francis Fund, the Shoals Family Success Center and the Children's Museum of the Shoals, among others. Diana loved her family and took every opportunity to travel with them.
Her family invites you to the celebration of Diana's life at 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept, 24, 2011, in the Chapel of St. Francis at Camp McDowell, Nauvoo, Ala., with reception following. Casual attire. Directions: campmcdowell.com.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Florence City School Education Foundation or the St. Francis Fund of Trinity Episcopal Church, Florence.

Bo, when I think of Diana, I think of the happy times she and I spent together at Mt. Moriah and Trinity and the Mountain Top week-end at Camp McDowell.You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.
