Diana Kay Weatherford

We have just learned of this sad loss. Memories are flooding in of our times with Kim and Diana. Laughter was always involved in our times together. There are no doubts that the lovely Diana will be missed by all.

We are just seeing this and truly heart broken for you and your families loss but also know that heaven gained an angel. I will never forget Emma and Lauren´s play dates along with Abby and Christofer´s learning to crawl dates. I will never forget the fun times we had at Webb Chapel C of C and watching Diana laugh out loud as I told the girls as we walked into the Zoo and standing in front of the Flamingo Exhibit, "Let´s stand like the Flamingo´s!" Diana and I became close friends at Kansas University in the mid 80´s when I was a foreign student from Sweden. She was so fun to be with! I was sort of adopted by the Gatlin family during holidays and loved it.

Diana and I stayed in touch after I moved back to Sweden. One Easter we went to Paris together. I visited her when she had moved to New Jersey and was introduced to Kim, a very kind and intelligent man who humorously referred to himself as "the short funny guy with a moustache". It was immediately clear to me that Diana had met the love of her life, they were such a perfect match! I was honoured to be a bridesmaid at their wedding 1989.

Diana was one of my dearest friends, it didn´t matter that we were separated by time and distance. When we got in touch it was like no time had passed at all. One magical day just before New Year´s Eve in 2011, Diana, Kim and their lovely daughters Emma and Abby visited me and my family in Malmö, Sweden. It was so wonderful and special that our families got to meet! I think of this day often!

I feel blessed to have had Diana in my life and heartbroken that she has passed. My heart goes out to her loving husband Kim and her sweet daughters Emma and Abby. I also think of Diana's siblings and the Gatlin family. God bless you all! Much love from Maria Fridh

Diana was an extraordinary woman! So thankful that I was able to spend so many years working closely with her and getting to experience her love and compassion for others. She spent hours and hours working on behalf of the band boosters and setting up a program for us that has extended to today.  We still use her model! She has left us a beautiful legacy!

It's a wonder that such simple connections between Coram Deo parents at football games and art events could result in such consistent encouragement and lifting of spirits. Diana's generosity, intellect, and humor... there's no one like her. So sorry to hear this news and praying comfort for the family.

Kim, Emma and Abby, words cannot express how much we love and appreciate your family. We have been kept abreast of Diana´s journey through Tim and Peggy. We are so very sorry for the heartache of both illness and loss you have endured. We have such fun memories of times together back in the day, and certainly look forward to when time is no longer an issue with being with those we love. Diana brought us a ham and chicken lasagna when Jared was born, and it's fitting that it is his birthday meal of choice almost 34 years later! We pray for peace and comfort for your entire family. I never met Diana but I was a longtime colleague of Kim´s at Gartner where he shared many lovely stories of Diana and her girls. Reading her life story helped me come closer to her and the Weatherford family. The Pedersen Family sends their deepest condolences and hope Diana´s memories shine bright forever.

Kim we are so very sorry to learn of Diana´s passing. We had no idea your family was dealing with this horrible disease. We have such fond memories of going to Webb Chapel with you and always think of you both on our wedding anniversary - a day we all had in common. My heart goes out to the whole, large family that I have only heard great stories about that I'm sure are mostly true. My heart holds joy for Diana as of the day before yesterday, and hurts for Kim, as well as their awesome Emma & Abby.

Diana's and Kim's story brought several smiles to my face which is a gift really. It reads just like a Christmas letter, telling of the adventures and memories the whole family made throughout the past years but now fills in the time pre-1989, when I first met them.

I love all of you here close to Flower Mound, as well as the big family I have not met, yet.

What an amazing tribute to Diana. I recall first meeting the two of you when we took Emma to Europe on a Baylor study abroad and who would ever have imagined the ways our lives would become intertwined--Baylor, Straw to Bread, illness, and life. Kim, your devotion to Diana and the faith shown by both of you in navigating this experience has been inspiring to watch. Know we've still got your back through this long journey ahead.

What a beautiful tribute to a precious lady. You and your sweet family have blessed me with a view of lives lived for the glory of God. In 10 minutes, we went from hearing the news to reading the obituary to now commenting on the guestbook we thought we had many more years left to sign. The tears were flowing as we heard the news and read the story. We rejoice in her reward, but we are heartbroken for those of you left behind. Our memories with the two of you are cherished and special. Your names get mentioned in our house often (as recently as two days ago), and we always follow it by saying that we need to reach out and meet up for lunch or dinner. We are heartbroken to hear that she had to struggle with a disease. She was precious, she was the light in every room, and she was responsible for so much laughter in our lives. I can´t remember a time when we weren´t laughing. We can´t wait to hug you tight, Kim. And ever thankful for the promises, we can´t wait to see her again and share funny stories. Kim- what a wonderful recount of Diana´s story. She would be pleased, honored and also entertained. I can hear her giggle now at some of your quips of humor laced within. Always loved laughing with you two- a perfect match I would describe you to each other. You guys both handled this tough journey with beautiful grit, grace, and full devotion to God and each other.
