Aunt Betty DuBois

August 23, 2014

Diana Faye was 5 years old when Uncle Howard brought this Georgia Baptist to Abbeville to meet the relatives. I think they dreaded my coming, afraid I would be stuck up and stand-offish. But,I was hooked as soon as the door was opened and they all started talking in French, using their hands constantly, and trying to be nice by speaking English for me. All of a sudden, I, an only child, had new brothers and sisters and I was actually an aunt. My heart couldn't contain my joy. Diana Faye and Debbie, Mary Belle when she was there, would hang around me and talk to me and I adored them. I loved all of the children and never, in all of these years, got tired of hearing them call me "Aunt Betty".
Now, our brothers and sisters and even our in-laws are gone and missed so much. Mary Belle, Tony and now Diana Faye are missing from the next generation.
My heart is broken knowing I will never again pick up the phone and hear Diana Faye say, "Aunt Betty". How I wish I had the words to tell you, Barry, and the children, how special your wife and mother was to me. Sometimes we would laugh and sometimes she could make me cry. She will always be in my heart. God bless all of you.

Mr Woolery, I'm so sorry to hear about your wife's passing. From the way you always spoke so fondly of her, I'm sure she was a wonderful woman. Please know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.
