Mrs. Burney was my 4th grade teacher in 1995. She was one of a kind. It was nice to read this obit to hear about her life and family. None of which I am surprised to hear. Even all these years later, I can still remember her kindness and her smile and her welcoming nature to one of the really quiet and shy children. God bless the family and I am saddened for your loss. Thank you - Chris Cullen of Westlake.

I am so sorry for your loss. I remember cousin Ken and Diane's wedding well. I actually caught the garder even though I was way too young to get married (I think I may have been 11yrs old). She was a beautiful bride. I wish I could have seen you guys before she passed. With much love and sympathy

I am so saddened to learn of Diane´s sudden passing and send my deepest condolences to Ken, Jeff, Erin, Tom and all her extended family. May God provide strength, comfort and peace as you travel the difficult days ahead.

Although Diane is no longer in this world, her loving kindness and vivacious spirit will reside in my heart forever. She brought joy, hope, peace and goodness to everyone she encountered. I was especially blessed to share a birth date with her and, as a birthday twin and soulmate, be a frequent beneficiary of her endless affection and hugs.

Well done, good and faithful servant. As my forever friend, may you rest eternally in God´s peace which you so richly deserve.

She was my 4th grade teacher back in 1979 and to this day is still one of my favorite and most memorable teachers. I can honestly say I adored her. Very grateful our life paths crossed early in life .. your smile is ingrained in my brain and your heart for your family! Best memory, spending a weekend in Perrysville at age of 11!
Diane knew how to drive their car between their business and summer home on their property.. I was with her for that short bumpy drive on grass.. I still see her driving like she has been doing it her whole young life ! I was absolutely amazed and thought it was the coolest thing I ever got to experience! Her big Brother Tom took us out on Pleasant Hill lake where they taught me to waterski!! I also got to eat her dad´s corned beef and cabbage which I was afraid I would not like and have to eat to be respectful! It was delicious!! One of the best childhood memories ever! A true Forever Friend I look forward to seeing again in Heaven for eternal never ending adventures! Dear family of Diane´s, my heart breaks for your missing her and pray you receive comfort from Our Lord´s Presence in your life at this difficult moment of grief

Hi,

I am deeply saddened for your loss. The world lost a truly remarkable person. Mrs. Burney was my fourth grade teacher and the reason I pursued a teaching career. Her kindness, compassion, love of teaching and her students shaped those around her in such a positive and uplifting way. Even as a fourth grader (back in 1997) I knew how close she was with her family. I remember her talking about them often! Everyone loved Mrs. Burney, again so sorry for the family´s loss!

Dear Burney Family,

I was so sad to hear of Diane´s untimely passing. I had the great pleasure of working with her at Dover in the early 1990´s. I just loved Diane and her sweet energy. She was always a joy to be around and I hold many fond memories of her kindness and wisdom. As a new teacher, I really respected the way she motivated her students and appreciated her easy going attitude. She made me feel comfortable and welcome at our school. My heart goes out to you at this difficult time. Sending you loving energy and my sincere condolences. Fortunately, her spirit lives on in you and all who were gifted with her presence.

Take good care,
Susan (Ule) McGennis
