She has been a friend and client of my since I first started cutting hair. She would always tell me about her grand kids and the rest of her family.

I met Diane when she was right out of high school. We worked together at Home Savings & Loan in Beverly Hills. Although six years younger, she was far more street wise than I and guided me through the waters of single life. She had not led the sheltered life I had. She was my best friend for decades and I have fond memories of us playing backgammon until the wee hours of the morning (all while polishing off a bottle of Boone´s Farm Strawberry Hill, banana split ice cream and her favorite: crackers and caviar) and then sleeping for a few hours and heading to work. We spent our weekends at the beach and biking. She was Maid of Honor at my wedding and I caught the bouquet at her reception when she married Dick (she always referred to me as "the blue flash in the picture" after that). We were pregnant together and would walk our babies in their strollers. I have so many memories of her, I could write an article. She was the dearest friend to me and took me into her family. I loved her parents! How well I recall Diane telling her mom about something we had done and her mom would say " Di-ANE!". She had an edge to her and was fearless and outspoken; very secure in who she was. She lived her life doing what she wanted and didn´t particularly care about what others thought. She was genuine and not the least bit pretentious and that´s what I loved the most about her, I think. I accepted her and she accepted me.

I am so sorry for your loss. I had the wonderful privilege of working with Diane when I was a baby paralegal. She taught me a lot about civil litigation and always had something funny to say when times got stressful. She will be missed.

The first question that popped up was what is your first memory... it was at one of our family gatherings on Christmas Eve. I opened one of my presents and got a cute mini skirt. My dad was horrified and you just hear a big belly laugh from diane "Aw Don, it´s cute!" When I was little I viewed her as the "cool" aunt and I just loved spending time with her! She was so much fun to be around. I always had a good time with her. One of my favorite memories with her was when I got to spend time in Vegas with just her and my mom, when my mom took me for my 21st birthday. I appreciated how our relationship has changed now that I´ve gotten older. Hearing stories about our family, their perspectives on life/womanhood, and just having a good time. She is my godmother, I love her and she will be missed

I am so sorry for your loss. I met her when I was young, but I remember her cats and the casino she took us to for dinner where we met Mr. Miyagi!

Aunt Di was champion of rolling up the most dense pieces of Christmas wrapping paper and starting light-hearted family wars during our get togethers. Her humor and compassion will never be forgotten.
