Diane Pritchard Obituary
Friday, February 17th peacefully at home. She was born in Bar Harbor, Maine daughter
of Robert and Gloria Davis.
She was the epitome of kindness and gentleness and was the most beautiful woman we
have ever known. We are all so blessed to have known her, loved her and received her
love. She was our beacon of light, hope, kindness, compassion, tolerance and selfless
love. Mother, grandmother, sister, daughter and friend. She most enjoyed spending her
life with the people she loved. She will be deeply missed.
Predeceased by her mother Gloria Davis. She is survived by her father Robert Davis of
Bar Harbor, first husband George Henderson of Trenton, loving partner Alan Avtges and
his son James of Falmouth, daughter Tina and her husband James Hendricks of
Freeport, son Casey Henderson of Trenton, sister Barbara and husband Lee Breard of
Oakland, brother Forrest and wife Laurie Davis of Sullivan, brother Robert Jr. and wife
Susana Davis of Bar Harbor, sister Wendy Davis of Ellsworth and three grandchildren:
Carley Henderson of Trenton, Shea Boulanger of Freeport and Jett Henderson of
Trenton.
Family and Friends are invited to a time of visitation Friday February 24th from
5:00-7:00pm at the Jones-Rich-Hutchins Funeral Home on 199 Woodford St, Portland.
A Memorial Service will be held and Celebration of Life on Saturday February 25th from
12:00-3:00pm at the Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 21 Ledgelawn Ave, Bar Harbor.
In the downstairs community room, please use the side door.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Diane's grandchildren's
education fund. Checks made payable to: Grammy Di's Plan, C/O Key Bank, 135 Main S.,t
Freeport, ME 04032.

I walk down memory lane as I look through my photo albums. All I see is that you were always right there beside me. My sister. My best friend. Mom was always a best friend for me. I lost her first. But I still had you. You were the maid of honor in all of my imagined and even once planned weddings. How could you be gone too? Who do I talk to now sister? You always accepted me uconditionally. I told you everything. Nobody knows the things that you know. You were my rock. You were so many people's rock. How do I go on without you beside me in all of future photos?

Your birthday is coming. You're really on my mind. I miss your beautiful smile, watching you always playing with the kids, your laugh, your humor, talking to you and catching up, listening to you telling the kids your made up stories, talking to you about just anything. You were such a great listener and could always relate. Wish I could give you the tightest hug and tell you how very much you mean to me. I was so saddened to learn of the recent passing of Diane--she was a beautiful lady, both inside & out. She always seemed to have a smile and kind word for everyone. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to Alan & the rest of the Foreside Dental "Family"--she will be sorely missed by all. My thoughts & prayers are with you at this difficult time.

Diane and I worked at Martins Point together. I was an intern and assigned to her. What a great time we had together. Work and play. She was so calm and beautiful. And what a great shining smile she had when something struck her just right. Her smile and they way she posed her chin upon her hand. I remember how she would get upset she would quickly recover right back into her beautiful persona. My father ran the medical center and I loved to watch the two of them in conversation. He adored her just like she was a daughter. I flew to Maine on Feb 10th and it is funny.......I thought of her the whole time I was there. Diane......I love you and can not wait to see you again. My cousin was the best, of which she loved her family and would go all out for them. She was so special to me, that my heart aches and I'm very saddened of the lost of such a very warm, full of life person, of which was related to me. I feel so blessed to have seen the family again after being away for 30 years. Diane is such a beautiful soul. I will always remember the precious memories I have as a child picking vegetables from her garden with her children, my cousins, Casey and Tina. We shared some wonderful laughter and conversation last year when I came to visit and I will cherish that for the rest of my days. I am so blessed to be a part of such a wonderful family. Diane was a wonderful, warm, caring individual. I always enjoyed our conversations during my visits to Maine to see my close friend, Alan Avtges. Diane made a lasting impression on me, and I was devastated to hear of her untimely passing. Diane drove me to the airport for my return flight to Georgia on my last visit. I did not know at the time it would be the last time I would see her. I know she will be missed by all that knew her, and I have no doubt she touched a great many lives.

To my sister Diane~ I guess I'm still in denial right now. All I know is that I'm going to miss you so, so much. We talked so many times about our kids, family members, complained about our bodies and how we eat too much, hot flashes, etc. You totally understood me and didn't ever judge. Diane was the sweetest person I know. I assumed because of her amazing energy and how she was so beautiful that she would be around forever. Lesson learned, let the ones you love know how much they mean to you more often because they won't always be there. Her family circle is so loving and they are all in my thoughts and prayers. I am so devistated of Dianes passing. I spent my younger years in Bar Harbor in Bunkers Court which is where we lived and had so many good memories. I spent 90% of my time at the Davis house and they were like a second family while growing up in Bar Harbor. I think the world of all of you and please know that there are not many families like ours that are so close and tight knit and never even experience the closeness we have. I am so sorry and my heart aches for all of you. Memories,love,and closeness,family,friends are what it's all about and That is what Diane was in every sense.Beautifull woman taken too soon.
