Aunt Dianne
I remember when Uncle Jack brought the family from New York to visit around 1967.
I remember how different the NY accent was from NM!
How young Marc would get mad & throw himself down & hold his breath & Aunt Dianne would be so worried!
Then Dad walked over & got a bucket of cold water & threw it on Marc & he didn´t throw that fit anymore!
I remember us all having a big fish fry & Aunt Dianne was struggling with how unsanitary stuff was...& Marc ran up to her & said, "Look mom, I have a fish eyeball!"
She was totally grossed out & told him to get rid of it - & he popped it in his mouth & ate it!!!
I thought she was going to faint!
I remember thinking she was the most beautiful woman I had ever seen.
I watched her when I thought she wasn´t looking & wanted to imitate her.
She had (in my memory) very dark brown gorgeous hair. Beautiful blue eyes & porcelain skin. A model like figure. She wore frosted lipstick that accentuated her perfect lips.
Most of all I admired her deep love & devotion to her husband.
How she held Jacks hand & was never far apart from him.
How that they stayed close no matter where they went.
One time they came in to the restaurant & there was only one chair at either end of the table.
Rather than sit that far apart, she sat on Jacks lap!
She was the picture of class, grace & beauty.
