Ms. Dianne Carol Brent of 135 Old Wythe Street, Petersburg, VA, departed this life Monday, May 8, 2023, at St. Mary’s Hospital, Richmond. She was born September 6, 1951, in Petersburg, VA to the late Leonard Brent, Sr. and Carrie Brent.
She was a graduate of Peabody High School and Virginia State College. Dianne was a member of Third Baptist Church in Petersburg. Dianne enjoyed talking, playing cards and Bingo.
Along with her parents Dianne was preceded in death by her son, William Hairston; granddaughter, Jaylen Brent; sister, Linda Brent, brother, Leonard Brent, Jr. and nephew, Reshawn Thurman.
Dianne leaves to cherish her precious memories to her children, Kinetra Brent Mitchell, Thomas Brent, Carl Hairston and Christopher Brent; grandchildren, Ashunta Brent, Kericee Rives, Chyna Brent, Legend Brent, Christopher Brent, Jr., Milan Brent, Riley Hairston, Carlee Hairston, Jaden Hairston, Kemari Brent, Madison Brent and Legend Brent; great grandchildren, Cayah Pegram, Kaylen Rives and Kylee Rives; sister, Judy Brent Wilson; brother, Thomas Brent; nieces, LaQuinta White, Jaylen Thurman, Ta’nai Thurman and Layana White; nephews, Reginald Thurman (Danielle), Ta’shyar Thurman and Lanell White; cousins, Irene Lee, Claudette Johnson and Theodore Williams; devoted friends that will miss Dianne immensely that were blessed to have over a half a century with her, “The Fannie Hill Gang”, Tommy Woodfin, Reginald Jones, and Leroi Ferby; sisterhood, Teann Robinson, Molanda “Cookie” Hampton, Jacqueline Bethel, Bessie Hendricks, Meta Dawson-Phillips, Vanessa Davis-Campbell, Carlean Muhammad and Darlene Jones; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held 3:00 P.M., Monday, May 29, 2023, in the Chapel of J. M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment, Inc., 102 South Avenue, Petersburg, VA.
