Dianne Kay Vickhammer Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Oct. 28 to Oct. 30, 2022.
Dianne Kay Vickhammer passed away on Oct. 22, 2022 at St. Luke's Hospital with her family by her bedside. She battled a brief onset with pneumonia. She was 72 years old.

She was born on May 7, 1950 in Kalispell, MT, the daughter of Jack R. Spafford and Helen L. Spafford. She graduated from Flathead High School in 1968.

In 1970 she moved to Spokane, Washington with her husband. In 1972 she had her first son, Brad. In August of 1975, Dianne welcomed her second son, Todd into the family. She later moved back to Kalispell, Montana where she resided until moving to Idaho. Dianne worked at a number of businesses but spent 15+ years working for National Flood Insurance.

In 2009 Dianne was diagnosed with Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma and moved to Idaho to be closer to her eldest son and her doctors in Salt Lake City. She successfully beat her cancer and she was very proud of that accomplishment.

In the last few years, one of Dianne's greatest joys was meeting her daughter, Trena Harris. They were able to meet in Lewiston, Idaho where Trena was raised by her adoptive parents. Dianne also enjoyed spending time with her boys and taking care of her loving cats, Cookie and Frank. Her hobbies included watching football, watching true crime mysteries, spending time with her friends and shopping. Her feisty attitude and perseverance will be missed by friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Helen. She is survived by her children Trena Harris, Brad (Jennifer) Vickhammer, Todd (Jenny) Vickhammer, and grandchildren Beau, Brycen, Jake, Zach, Cooper and Elly.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making donations in Dianne's name to the West Valley Humane Society in Caldwell, Idaho.
