Dillon LeRoie Battiste entered into eternal rest on Friday, October 13, 2023, at the age of 23. He was a Native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Harvey, LA.  Dillon was a graduate of New Orleans Military Maritime Academy (NOMMA), and he briefly attended the University of Louisiana Lafayette. He was socially gifted and excelled in sports. Dillon was on an All-Star Championship basketball team at Oakdale Park. He continued expressing his love for sports by playing basketball in high school and rooting for the Saints. Dillon will be remembered for his loving, nurturing, and caring spirit. Beloved son of Todd Battiste and Deidra Johnson. Loving brother of Todd Battiste, II. Devoted grandson of Ruby Johnson, and the late Herbert Johnson, Sr., Leroy Joseph Battiste, and Dorothy Celeste Burnside Battiste. Adored nephew of Lelia (Herbert) McCullum, Herbert Johnson, Marsha (Darryl) Smith, Kenny Johnson, and Sabrina Battiste. Very special cousin of Teren Rae Roberts; also survived by a host of other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also priest and parishioners of All Saints Catholic Church and neighboring churches are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial at All Saints Catholic Church, 1441 Teche Street New Orleans, LA on Friday, October 27, 2023, at 11:30a.m. Father Fred Kaddu, Celebrant.
