I don't know your family, but I did know Danny when he was in the early years at Westwood School. I served as a lunch aide there. I always saw him with his mom and never knew her name, but knew she was a good mom. She was always there with him and she was just an example of what a great mom should be.
We are neighbors, actually, and I saw the medical examiner's car in front of your house that day, and felt a sickness in my stomach thinking that someone in the family had been lost. My heart aches as I think of the sadness that is felt when we lose a loved one, but I am also aware that if we knew the joy that will be ours when we pass from this world, we would all be waving our arms shouting, "Take me, Take me!"
I will continue to keep your family, and especially Danny in my prayers.
With heartfelt sympathy,
Karen Hopkins and family

I can not believe you are gone! Dina you did an AMAZING job with Danny, your love and good morals and values you instilled in him shine through and I have a feeling he is going to be just fine! He will continue to do you proud. I wish you could have seen how many people came out to love and support us. Our hearts are broken! You were a good sister an AMAZING daughter mother and aunt, I listened to every niece and nephew share their own memories of you.You were there during the dark times for all of us and we will all do our best to surround Danny with love.
Im not sure when you went from me babysitting you to you babysitting my girls to just being my friend, I will always cherish the memories we had going to concerts, making fun of people, getting yelled at from mom for making fun of people!!!
I will miss you and everything about you.

My Beautiful and Beloved Dina,
A better friend than you could not exist. It is an impossibility.
We have shared each other’s joys, heartaches, secrets, hopes and dreams. Thank you for being my true kindred spirit and my constant and positive reinforcement of light, even now, in the darkest of days.
You are a remarkable and extraordinary person, Dina. You define compassion and have always been in your greatest glory when helping others. You are to be admired and respected for all of your goodness, your hard work ethic, your determination and the nurturing love you so selflessly and whole-heartedly give. How wonderful the world would be if we were all more like you!
You have raised Danny to be the most wonderful young man. Like you, he is extremely intelligent and beautiful, both inside and out. You have every reason to be proud of him and yourself, for having instilled in him the good values of faith, honor and respect. I pray that God will continue to comfort him and direct him in the path that you want for him. I know you will be with him along the way, providing love and guidance. Please know that I will always be here for him.
Like everyone else at this time, I am overcome with shock, disbelief and sadness, but there are no good-byes here, Dina. You are alive within my heart and always will be! Just as every day since I have known you, I reflect on our priceless, silly memories and I begin to laugh uncontrollably. Thank you for making me (and the world) laugh with your incredible sense of humor. Every memory and moment we had was magical and I will cherish them forever in my heart. God has, indeed, blessed us with the greatest friendship and I know that someday we will, again, play and laugh and drink a beer (or two!).
Thank you, my beloved “Sister Soul.”
I love you, Dina!
Eternally,
Amy

Aunt Dina was an amazing woman. She was a wonderful mother to Danny. I love you so much Aunt Dina!! You have been there for me so many times in my life helping me through. I will never forget the many times we watched Super Star when I could not handle watching anything else. I looked up to you. You showed me how to be a strong mother for Bella when I found out I was pregnant and left to handle parenthood on my own. I admired your strength in so many situations. I will also never forget you digging for Christmas presents under the tree @ Beeb's house and the tree falling on you. We laughed so hard! I will cherish all the memories we had and keep them in my heart. You raised such an amazing young man! He is so loved. I have peace knowing God's Grace is amazing and that you knew Him. I pray we meet again on the streets of gold. I love you Aunt Dina xoxo
