Dina was my cousin. Although we were not close growing up, we got to know each other at Southeastern. She was a great person, a kind soul, and if she crossed your path, you were one of the fortunate ones. My wife and her were in AOPI together at SLU and I can't believe she has been gone this long. Thinking of you Dina D!

I miss her random calls to throw around some new idea. I asked her "Why me?" And she replied, she liked my Canadian outlook when bringing out new ideas.

Thanks to all who posted pictures of Dina later in life. I was in the great Bonnabel High Band with her and hadn´t seen her since. She was always incredibly nice to me and I thought she was adorable. It´s heartbreaking to hear Dina passed so young. God Bless.

To Harold and the D' Geralamo family it has been a long time since I have seen yall. The memories that I have is when both of our families went to St. Lawrence church. We did go to H.S together for a year. My condolences to your family and saddens my heart that I haven't had that opportunity to spend time with y'all families.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Dina was a great person and even though I spent a short amount of time with her it was very enjoyable. I got to experience Mardi Gras with her and she made me pay for wearing a Alabama shirt. Life is short and she defiently showed all of us to appreciate every minute of every day. Condolences to her family through this tough time

I write this with a heavy heart and crying. I am honestly still in shock since receiving the call on Friday, September 16th about Dina’s passing; still asking myself how and why. I am so going to miss my dear friend. Her infectious laugh and smile. Her wisdom of advice…”let me tell you what you should do.” I can’t tell you how many times I heard her start a conversation with this phrase. I had the joy of knowing and being Dina’s friend for over 18 years, too short; and 6 of those years I worked with her at AOII HQ. I learned a lot from her forward thinking, and she will be long remembered in my thoughts. I extend my condolences and prayers to her family, especially to her nieces and nephews she so loved and adored and her friends. You will be greatly missed my friend. Lisa Pearson.

Dina was life and love personified. I never saw her without a smile or impish grin. I never heard an angry or belittling word from her mouth. She was interested in everything and everyone. All she ever wanted to do was give back, share, and make the world better. Dina you are so loved, and will be so missed. Through conversations with you, I know where you are and that I will see you again. Thank you for sharing your life with me while here. I love you. My sincere condolences to the family; you have suffered a great loss.

Welcome Home
written by L J Coon

Welcome home my friend, from so much suffering
Welcome home my friend, step out of the pain
It’s ok to cry, we've all seen tears before
Its ok my friend welcome home

Talk of love one’s lost, so many years ago
And how you hurt inside, till no more tears would flow
Let the healing start, you can't look back no more
Its ok my friend welcome home

Welcome home, from so much suffering
Welcome home, step out of the pain
It’s ok to cry, we've all seen tears before
Its ok my friend, welcome home

Could I somehow sooth, your pain that lives within
If you just let go, the healing will begin
Holding on so tight, letting go is half the test
Its ok my friend welcome home

Welcome home, from so much suffering
Welcome home, step out of the pain
It’s ok to cry, we've all seen tears before
Its ok my friend, welcome home

It’s ok my friend…the pain won't hurt, no more ...

Dina...was a women who gave not only of her time..but of her heart. She touched so many lives for the better including mine that none of us should be suprised that she was called home way to early for any of us who loved her to be prepaired. I have no doubt she is raising her eyebrows in Heaven..right this minute..and saying to God.."look let me show you how we do that in the south!" Love you my friend..Always will think of you when I am in East Nashville and having a beer! Amy McGee

Dina, thanks for our talks about life, about taking risks, about taking the positive out every situation..The positivity I will take from losing you, is that, without a doubt in my mind, you left us without ever saying..what if..I hope to live my life with as much influence, positivity, and wisdom as you gave me. I know your parents are so excited to tell you how proud they have been of you while looking down on you. You are loved and missed more than you will ever know! I "met" Dina through phone calls when she worked in AOII's HQ and these conversations started a long distance friendship where she knew, if she was up in the Pacific Northwest, there was always a bed in Vancouver waiting for her. While there was a great distance between us, I felt her warmth and love. Her light will shine for a very long time.

My memories with Dina will always be near and dear to my heart. We became friends during college/sorority and then our lives took different paths and we lost touch. Until a few years ago, we reunited and began a new relationship that I will cherish forever. We always had great conversation and great times with each visit to NOLA. I miss Dina so much.

It is hard to fathom our loss. The joy, energy and love that made Dina the most amazing soul in the world simply can't be gone.

I have the most delightful memories from simple to sublime because she made everything fun and a new adventure. I learned how to properly do a shrimp boil with her from buying on the docks to peeling and eating. She believed everything could be done and made it so. I was always amazed at the breadth of her personal and professional reach and knowledge. She was always someone you could call for any wide variety of reasons. I have lost a dear and wonderful friend.

My heart and prayers goes to you her family. I cannot fathom the totality of it all for you. Thank you for sharing her with the world.
