Dixie Bywaters Obituary

Dixie Lee Bywaters, St. Joseph, Mo., formerly of Camden Point, Mo., passed away Feb. 1, 2007, at a local heath-care center.
Dixie was born Nov. 26, 1926, in Jamesport, Mo., to Fallis and Dorsey (Price) Barnett. She was a graduate of Gallatin, Mo., high school. After high school, she moved to Kansas City, Mo.
On June 29, 1946, she married William Gordon Bywaters Sr. He preceded her in death in 1982. They made their home in Camden Point.
She was a homemaker and assisted her husband with farming. She also was employed as a corporal officer for the Platte County Sheriff's Department before her retirement in 1991.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and two daughters, Teresa Ann Bywaters and Linda Faye Gage.
Survivors: a son, William G. "Bill" Jr., and his wife, Linda, St. Joseph; daughters, Mary S. Martin, and her husband, Jerry, Platte City, Mo.; and Lana K. Bywaters, St. Joseph; grandchildren, Karla Jones, Plano, Texas; Kyle Martin, Maryville, Mo.; Krystal Bywaters, St. Joseph; and Cole Bywaters, St. Joseph; stepgrandchildren, Melinda Ward, Smithville, Mo.; and Deanna Long, Kansas City, Mo.; two great-grandchildren; and three step great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 3, at Rupp Funeral Home, St. Joseph. The graveside service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 4, at the Camden Point Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Camden Point Cemetery.
