Riecke, we are so sorry we could not attend Dixie's service! Bill is recovering from a small procedure. Dixie was one of the loveliest people we ever knew, and we will miss her so much! She was a perfect example of the saying "only the good die young." She always went the extra mile! May you feel God's peace and love surrounding you during the difficult days ahead! Dixie and I met at Mulberry Baptist Church and became fast friends...a friendship that lasted over 20 years and a deep friendship like I’d never had. She made me happy, she made me feel loved, and she always supported me in anything I was doing.
She made so many people feel the same way because her heart was so open and kind and caring. She was always aware of your feelings and knew what you needed. She cared about so many people and would try to help everyone.
More than anything, she adored her wonderful, loving family.
I will truly miss talking and laughing with her all the time, having our deep conversations, and yes, even tears..
She was an Angel, and I will always keep her in my heart. I know she will always be
watching over us.. That is just Dix!

Dixie always brought so much light and love into the lives of those around her. She was an incredible Friend, Mother and Grandmother. She was sweet, caring and loving to all those who knew her. Extending our deepest sympathies to you in this time of loss. May God watch over you and comfort in His graces.

Dixie was the sweetest, kindest, most thoughtful, compassionate, fun-loving and truest friend I have ever had!! There will never be another one like you! We were best friends since 3rd grade at Oakshire in Houma. Gone too soon! My heart is broken and I will miss you dearly, my girl. My deepest sympathy and prayers go out to the Heigl and Schaefer family.

Was a wonderful stepmother and role model to me for the 10 years she was in my life. My condolences to the heigl family and all those grieving... she will be singing in that heavenly choir along with so many that are missed.

Dixie and I had so many memorable times together and this was one of the happiest! She was a happy, beautiful Bride.

Dixie and I had the most amazing conversations when we worked together. She was a great friend, beautiful inside and out, and loved her family. I will miss her sweet face. What a glorious angel Heaven has gained.

Dixie always had a smile on her face. She was humble in high school, and had a servants heart even back then. Prayers to her family and friends....
