I had the absolute pleasure of working with , and getting to know, Dan many years ago while I was the head of showrooms for Lee Jofa. He was a true southern character, a design genius, a whip of an intelligent man, a great storyteller, and one of the funniest and most irreverent men I have ever had the opportunity to meet- I do believe I will not meet another like him as they broke the mold after Dan. I have so many funny and fond memories of him. He will be missed. I am sorry for your loss.

Fly high Dan. I met him through his patronage of the company I worked for, Mainly Baskets. He would stop over to buy high end basketry and/or wicker furniture for his clients. He was always interesting and full of stories. Always smiling and laughing about someone rich and famous. Always impeccably dressed, I remember being shocked one time when he had no socks on (only to find out later that 'no socks' was the current trend). I am certain he is entertaining his fellow angels in the universal beyond.

Please accept my heartfelt sympathy on the loss of your loved one. Hopefully reflecting on all the good times you've shared together will help ease the pain that you feel. May "the God of all comfort" strengthen you at this time of sadness, and may His promise for the future bring you peace. Hosea 13:14

A big laugh, a big smile, and a big heart. From our days together at Rich's in the 1970s thoughts of Dan always bring joy. May you find comfort from the esteem in which his memory will always be held.

For my friend Dan...who would have thought when meeting you in the mid 1980's while we were both at our beloved Rich's that our paths would cross again 15 years later...you became such a mentor and great friend. The international design community has lost one of its giants!
With love and the up-most respect,
