ROBERT EDWARD SPACE
CORTLAND - Robert Edward Space, age 70, of 597 McLean Road, Cortland, NY passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2009 at University Hospital, Syracuse, NY. "Bob" was born Dec. 7, 1938 in Homer, NY, a son of the late Richard and Lillian Woodward Space. Bob served in the US Air Force and returned to McLean Road to own and operate the Space Farm with his wife, Nancy J. Gibson Space to whom he was married on Jan. 3, 1960. He was a member of the Farm Bureau and a former member of the Central New York Woodworkers. Bob was an avid bowler and Cornell Hockey fan. He will be missed by his family and friends and his dog, Irish. Survivors include his loving wife of 49 years, Nancy Space at home, his daughters, Ginny Space of Cortland, Joyce Kraley of Maynard, MA, Sandra (David) Raulli, of East Syracuse, NY, and Karen Fischbein of Pasadena, MD; four grandchildren, Willy Fischbein, Melissa and Kevin Kraley, and Daniel Raulli; nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members. He was predeceased by his brothers, Stuart and William Space.
Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Saturday, April 4, 2009 at the Perkins Funeral Home with Rev. Aaron Bouwens officiating. Burial will follow in Willow Glen Cemetery, Dryden. Friends are invited to call from 6 to 8 PM Friday (tonight) at the funeral home, 55 West Main St., Dryden.
