Dolores Lee Beaton

Dolores L. Beaton, age 73, known to her loved ones as Dee, Lorie or Gram, departed this life on March 25, 2023, in Okeechobee, Fl, late in the evening. She passed after being admitted to the hospital earlier in the day following several months of hospice care.

She was born in Jersey City, New Jersey on November 13, 1949. She spent most of her life in central New Jersey until moving to Florida in 2016. She was a devoted Catholic participating at Our Lady of Peace in Fords, and she was a prominent member of the Edison Elks, serving as Exalted Ruler in the mid 2000s. In the early 2000s, Dolores took on the responsibility of raising her granddaughters, never missing a game, performance, or event that either of them participated in.

She is survived by her sisters Linda Redding and Dawn Shaw; her brothers Arthur Jr. and Kenneth Shaw; her children Robert (and his wife, Christine), Danielle, and Brian Beaton; her nephews Scott and Tommy Redding and Tommy Shaw; her grandchildren Jessica, Bailey, Anthony and Austin Beaton; and her great grandchildren Elias, Jaxton, and Mya.

A memorial service will be held on June 10, 2023 at 11am for family and friends that wish to pay their respects and say their goodbyes. It will be located at St Augustine of Canterbury Church, 45 Henderson Road in Kendall Park, NJ.

Dolores will be remembered fondly by her family and all the friends she's made in her lifetime in the places she called home, including Jersey City, Fords, Skillman, Edison, and Sayreville.

As per her wishes, she will be cremated and her ashes will be laid to rest with her parents' at St. James mausoleum in Woodbridge, NJ. Dolores will be deeply missed by all who knew her, and her legacy will live on through the memories she leaves behind.
