to the family of delores dorn, i just wanted to let you know what an honor it was to be your moms nurse while she was at life care center. she was always a bright spot in my day and when the job got to much on some days i could always count on your mom to pick up my spirts and give me the nudge to go on. i thought of her as a friend some one i truly admired, and yes it is only fair to say that on some days our roles where reversed and i leaned on her for support and she was always there for me. thank you so much for trusting her care in my hands, the world was such a better place for having delores in it. love always jan davis lpn

I offer up prayers to those who have heavy hearts at this difficult time. Living and growing up mostly on the east coast in North Carolina and South Carolina I didn’t have an opportunity to know Aunt Dolores as well as I would have liked to. I do remember in the late 80’s my whole family visited Aunt Dolores in Seattle. Although she really did not know me, my children, or my husband, she welcomed us with open arms. She called everyone that she could to meet us. Aunt Darlene also welcomed us to her home in the same warm and loving manner. They treated us as if we had been close for all of those years. One thing I knew, is that she made us feel welcomed and showed us that we were family through her generosity and love. She had a lot of love for her family and it was evident in her character. Years have passed and everyone has been so busy in their lives. We often think of making another trip out west. That day has not yet come but we have a common thread in family. I look for the day we are all connected again. To all of Aunt Dolores’ children and grandchildren: She showed she loved you all and with that you are blessed. Remember all the fun great times and even the sad times. They are all memory makers. Memories are what will keep Aunt Dolores alive in our hearts.

My warmest regards and heart felt sympathies to the whole family and all friends of Aunt Delores. Although I only had a brief opportunity to meet and spend time with this awesome woman, she touched my heart and I will always have very found memories of her. Aunt Delores is my Great Aunt. Her niece, Sherry Hurkes McKinney (oldest daughter of Robert Hurkes) is my mother and I had an opportunity to visit Aunt Delores and other family members back in the summer of 1988 on a trip out west. I wish you all my condolences in the loss of such a wonderful person. God Bless you and keep you all.

To The Family of Delores Hurkes Dorn: My heart and prayers go with you. I just met a member of your family recently, Sherry by searching for my family tree and hope that we're extended family. In the search of family, the passing of Mrs. Dorn came to light. My deepest sympathies to her family. My regret is that I didnt have the pleasure of meeting her. She seems like quite a lady, one who would have been a mentor. God needed a gentle spririt, so he called her home. May God Bless Her & may he keep her family blessed with her memory!!!
