Dolores Klett Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 24, 2025.
Dolores "Dee" Klett, 96, of Willow Street, PA, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2025. Her family feels grateful that so many of us were able to visit her in the weeks leading up to her passing, and six of us were by her side at hospice during her final days.

Dee was born on July 18, 1929, in Cincinnati, OH, to Hilda and Ferdinand Scheidler. After graduating from St. Claire's High School, she married the love of her life, George Klett, USN, in 1952. Together they raised four children - Dee sometimes acting as a single parent when George was at sea, moving across the U.S. and around the world as part of Navy life.

She was predeceased by her husband George, her parents Hilda and Ferdinand, her sisters Claire and Joanne, and her son James. She leaves behind her son Dan (Sue), daughters Barbara (Steve) and Mary (Mark), daughter-in-law Debbie Klett, grandchildren George, Elyssa, Maddie, Greg, and Matthew, as well as her sister and brother-in-law, Irma and Roger Sand.

Dee's life was full of music, laughter, and love. A talented pianist, she brought music into her home and into the lives of her family. She could outplay anyone at Jeopardy or Boggle, loved to read, enjoyed water aerobics, and was always ready to share a new recipe-her famous Ranger Cookies were a family favorite. She was smart, witty, sometimes a little stubborn, but above all, deeply loving and supportive.

Her faith was central to her life. A devout Catholic, Dee was also dedicated to serving her community. She lived her life with grace, humor, and generosity, leaving behind a legacy of strength and love for her family and friends.

A memorial service will be held for Dee on October 1, 2025, 2:00 pm, at The Shrine of St. Anthony, 12290 Folly Quarter Rd., Ellicott City, MD 21042. Reception to follow. https://www.shrineofstanthony.org/

Mary,
Our Mother's shared several similarities - both from Ohio (Akron for mine), both US Navy wives who raised/moved a bunch of kids on her own, both devout Catholics, and both recently passing. Wishing all the best memories of her.
