Dolores R. Ramos

NEW BEDFORD — Dolores Rose "Dee" (Samanica) Ramos, aged 53 years, died Sunday, June 3, 2007 the St. Luke's Hospital after a courageous battle with lung cancer surrounded by her family and friends. She was the mother of Kacy Scieszka wife of Chris, Kelly Ponte, Herb De Mello, and Anthony De Mello, all of New Bedford. She was the grandmother of Justus, Hayden, Chloe, Madison, Cameron and Owen. "Dee" is the sister of the late Carol Barrett. She is also survived by a special niece Ashley Barrett.

Mrs. Ramos was a daughter of the late Antone Samanica and Mary (Hardin) Caton. She was born in New Bedford and she live in this area most of her life, until moving to Florida for the last 6 years. Mrs. Ramos was employed as a manager/supervisor at C.V.S. She enjoyed nature, being outside, reading, and being with her family.

Mrs. Ramos' funeral will be Thursday at the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St., services will begin at 10:30 A.M. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 to 8 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited.
