Mr. and Mrs. Delconte: We learned this past weekend (1/4/03) about Dom. We met your family briefly at the Little League field in Elkins in the early 1990's. I think you were in the process of moving but my oldest son, Steve Satterfield, is 23 and played baseball in Elkins Little League. He is the one who heard about Dom the past weekend. We are so sorry to learn of this. Ironically, Steve's younger brother, Jeff Satterfield, died in February of last year. He was 20. He had been active in baseball in Elkins also. Our lives have been shattered by his death and we can surely sympathize with your loss. My husband and I are from Elizabeth, PA and have ties to the Clairton community also. I have listed my e-mail if you would like to write to me. Again, we are very sorry. Nancy and Gary Miller and family.

Dear Bonnie, Vince, and Maria,

I last saw you at the funeral home. You could tell by the people, flowers, and feeling at that time that you all have people that love and care for you. It is hard to understand why things like this happen. Maybe we will never understand. But I believe in my heart that Dom is healthy and happy in heaven with God! You have to believe that in your heart so that you can go on. You have Maria, who will always need you, and people that love you and want to help you. Now is the hard time when Maria is back at school and the numbness wears off.

Right now just FROG - fully rely on God. He will hold you up and give you strength.

Love,

Sandy Guckert

Michele told me of your loss. I was greatly saddened to hear of the death of one whose birth I remember in Elkins. One cannot explain the loss of a child but we must trust in God to get us through these difficult times. May the love of friends bring your comfort - may the love of God bring you peace. God bless.

Dear Delconte Family,

I was shocked and saddened to learn of Dom's death from Dr. Serbin and my old office staff in Pittsburgh. Dom was a terrific young man and you are wonderful parents. It was an honor for me to be one of his doctors -- both Dr. Londino and I cared for Dom in a special way. No one can understand the loss of a child. I am truly sorry.

Words can not express how truly sorry we are for the loss of your son, Domenic. The support you showed us during Brandon's heart surgery really helped us get through a stressful ordeal in our lives. Now our hearts break with the loss you and your family now are faced with. Just remember that God will hold you in the palm of His hand during this trying time and He will reunite you one day with Domenic.

Vince, Bonnie and Maria,

There are no earthly words to convey the profound sadness Marty and I feel for you with Dom's passing. Your son and brother taught me volumes about courage and fairness, and about finding ways through and around adversity. Dom has a special place in my heart and my prayers.

May God's grace bring you strength and healing.

Our son had the privilege of playing baseball with Dom for the Keystone State Baseball Team several years ago. He spoke so highly of your son - what a special young man. How proud you must be of him for his accomplishments and for his courage. You will all be remembered in our prayers. May you all feel God's strength and His love.

To The Delconte Family;

I grew up on Farnsworth Avenue in Clairton. Our neighbors were Mr & Mrs. James Delconte and their children. I remember "Vince" as always being in his baseball uniform. As I was reading the sunday paper I seen the above notice and as I read it I realized that I did know the family. I did not know the deceased as I am much older but I would like to express my sincere sympathy to his family and grandparents. I remember Mr. & Mrs. Delconte coming to pay their respects when my father passed away and I wanted to do the same somehow.

May God carry this family during this difficult time.

We are deaply saddened at Dom's passing. Our son Brian always thought of Dom as one of his "favorites" when they played together on NA's team. We have spoken to Brian recently and he asked us to pass on his sympathy to all of Dom's relatives. May God be with all of you during this tough time. He's certainly with Dom now.
