I don’t know if Msgt Battle has family that might see this, but he was my shop NCOIC at my first duty station and he was amazing to me, he taught me how a man should be when I was just 19 years and 1 month old. (August 1991) I deeply respected him and I wish I could have known him after he left that post. He taught me what leadership is and treated me with respect. If a family reads this, I am sorry for your loss, I liked him so much!

My deepest condolences to Larry's family. I have many fond memories of Larry from working with him in the late 1990s - he was always such a kind person and a consummate professional. I am sure he will be missed by the many people whose lives he touched in addition to his friends and family. RIP, Mr. Battle.
