Father Dominic Carmon was not only a blessing to our family, but an Angel. As a child Dominic would visit my grandparents Jeanette and Charles Guidroz - which gave me the honor to be in his presence when I was visiting them. I so enjoyed those visits. His calmness and prayers before dining is what I remember back then. I locate Father Carmon through the archdiocese (maybe 15 plus yrs. ago) and I was able to see him during my visit to New Orleans. We were able to spend a few hours talking over lunch. From that moment on we would keep in touch by email and letters. What a blessing he was to so many . You'll always be in my heart ❤. God bless you Dominic Peace

My condolences to the family of Bishop Carmon some of whom are my relatives. We will all miss his kindness, generosity and great sense of humor. As a member of the President's Team at Xavier University of Louisiana, i supported the Bishop in his role as a member of the university's Board of Trustees, where he served for at least two terms.
In addition, if there was need for his services in a different capacity, he always answered the call
and graciously accommodated us. Thank you Bishop for your willingness to serve Xavier wherever needed. A job well done of shepherding God's children, I wish you now eternal rest my friend. I am going to miss you - Opelousas, your home town, will miss you. You made us so proud! Also, I will miss those annual personal greetings you would send out each holiday season. Each one unique, I looked forward to receiving them annually. Rest on in the arms of Jesus. Again, my heartfelt sympathies to everyone.

Our dear family friend and favorite priest has passed away. He officiated at half the Christenings and marriage ceremonies in the family, and referred to our matriarch, Mamma Rebie, as his Chicago mother. So I guess that makes him an honorary uncle. Rest In Peace, Dom, as you join so many of the souls you have touched in your ministry from Opoulousas to Chicago to New Guinea and back.

We love you and will miss you.
